Technology Overview
The unique patented liner-free manufacturing technology, that allows continuous winding process without utilising of a separate thermoplastic liner. Moreover, it makes the same manufacturing line suitable for both spoolable glass reinforced epoxy (S-GRE) and custom length glass reinforced epoxy (RTR) pipes production.
No separate linerDespite continuous winding manufacturing technique, Flextrong pipes do not utilise a separate liner in the pipe design. Therefore, micro-annulus cannot be formed in the pipe wall. In addition, thermo-mechanical, chemical and aging properties of all pipe layers are comparable. |
Gas non-permeable
Flextrong pipes have identical wall structure as classic RTR pipes. Therefore, no additional gas non-permeable layers are required. Non-permeability is an inherent manufacturing property of Flextrong products. |
Custom length RTR
Flextrong pipes have similar properties and structure to RTR pipes, but can be made to any custom length, limited by transportation considerations only. Coupled with small footprint, low energy consumption and low manpower requirement, it makes Flextrong technology a perfect solution for an in-field installation. |
In addition, Flextrong pipes deliver all typical benefits of composite pipes, compared to metal solutions:
- Better corrosion resistance to hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, sea water, brine, hydrochloric acid and bacteria;
- Lower installation and transportation costs due to lower pipe weight;
- Lower overall life cycle cost.
